The fit guide

Measure once, wear it well

Cap size, length and hair type are the three decisions that matter most. These steps take about ten minutes and save a return later.

Step 01

Measure your cap

A cap that sits flat starts with three numbers. Use a soft tape and keep it snug, not tight.

  • Circumference: around the hairline, behind the ears and around the nape.
  • Front to nape: from the front hairline over the crown to the base of the neck.
  • Ear to ear: across the forehead from one temple to the other.

Step 02

Find your length

Length is measured from the crown to the ends. The same inch count looks different depending on height and face shape.

  • 16 inches: sits around the collarbone on most wearers.
  • 20 inches: falls below the shoulder, easy to style up.
  • 24 inches and longer: reaches the mid-back and needs more detangling.

Step 03

Compare hair types

The right material depends on how often you wear the unit and whether you style it with heat.

  • Human hair: dye, curl and straighten; needs regular conditioning.
  • Heat-resistant fibre: keeps a factory style; use low heat only.
  • Remy human hair: aligned cuticles for less tangling in clip-in pieces.

Step 04

Put it on

A glueless cap should feel secure without pressure at the temples.

  • Braid or wrap your natural hair flat before putting the cap on.
  • Place the front edge slightly behind your natural hairline.
  • Fasten the adjustable strap, then tuck the side combs.
  • Blend the parting with a little powder that matches your scalp.

Step 05

Care and storage

Most units last longer when they are washed less often and stored on a stand.

  • Wash every 8-10 wears with sulfate-free shampoo in cool water.
  • Detangle from the ends upward before washing.
  • Air dry on a stand, away from direct heat.
  • Store in a breathable bag or on a canvas block.
